Calabar: Three Kidnapped, Two Released, One Dead

Posted on May 2, 2018 By Admin No Comments on Calabar: Three Kidnapped, Two Released, One Dead

One of the three persons kidnapped in Akpabuyo, outskirts of Calabar, Cross River State, has informed www.calitown.com that one of the those kidnapped alongside himself passed on before ransome was paid to secure their release.

Their kidnap which took place days ago, is believed to have triggered the deceased high blood pressure while under captivity, “it left us scared and devastated. He just said he wanted to ease himself and our abductors took him from among us and led him to the bush around where we were kept. Before he could ease himself, he slumped to the ground and passed on shortly after. Our abductors were thrown into confusion and became absolutely restless. The two of us left, became afraid for our lives and our abductors took our late friend away; we cannot say for certain where he may have been buried … it is really sad. Shortly after we were released, we informed his family that he has passed on and they are quite devastated too”, we were told.

We can also confirm that the kidnappers initially asked for N100 million as ransome but the families of the three kidnapped persons paid N3 million before the surviving two were released.
