CR Assembly Confirms First Batch Of 11 Commissioner Nominees

Posted on August 3, 2023 By Admin No Comments on CR Assembly Confirms First Batch Of 11 Commissioner Nominees

The Cross River State House of Assembly has confirmed a first batch of 11 nominees out of the 26 Commissioner nominees sent to the House for confirmation by state governor, Bassey Otu.

Justin Beshel, Abigail Duke, Stephen Odey, Agnes Atsu and Lawrencia Ita, were confirmed alongside Ededem Ani, Mathias Unimke Angioha, Hipolatus Ogar Lukpata, Moses Osogi, Felix Idem as well as Ewa Robert Abubakar.

The confirmation was informed by the report of the House Committee on Judiciary, Public Service Matters, Public Petitions and Conflict Resolution presented to the House during plenary, by Davies Etta, Chairman of the committee.

Meanwhile, the House turned down the confirmation of Gladys Eutamdala, citing petitions written against her nomination by some persons from her native Yakurr LGA, over “…some critical issues of great public concern against her.” He however did not make public, the petitions. The second and third batch of nominees cleared by the House will be made public shortly.
