Cross River indigene, Asuquo Bassey Solomon, has been crowned “Father of the Year” at the just concluded International Family Pageant, after emerging victorious in this category of the pageant.

On the strength of this victory, Solomon, a Mass Communications expert and public policy analyst, will, on behalf of pageant organisers, champion social causes, inspire change and work at embodying the values of family leadership on a global stage.

Solomon who spoke with www.calitown.com, shortly after the crowning ceremony, informed that the “pageantry is a platform for me to rediscover my life purpose and pursue my passion for service to humanity. I am poised to impact on human development by promoting core family values of unity, love and peace.”

“My winning of the pageant is the beginning of a journey that requires tenacity, resilience, strength, courage and commitment to bring about the needed social change that will impact on the lives of people.”

He also maintained that, “in participating in this first-ever family pageant, I have an introspective understanding of how we need our future to look like and what legacy we will leave behind for our children and the future generations. We need peace, love and unity to project into the larger society for us to achieve a more peaceful and prosperous world. In the period of my reign, I will through robust and deep action, support, dialogue, partnership and collaboration to execute projects that will bring about positive outcomes in sustainable developments and agenda for the growth and development of our nation, Nigeria and the African continent.”

This pageant, a brainchild of Hadassah Ibinyingi Gloriana Allaputa, Miss World United Nations 2019 – 2022, aims to redefine the perception of pageantry by embracing contestants of all ages, body types, and abilities while promoting family values.

The colourful event held at the Abuja Continental Hotel, also witnessed the coronation of ten other exceptional contestants.
