Williams at the event.

Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District, Eteng Jonah Williams says it is of critical importance that the present administration in Cross River State, should be massively supported so that she can be buoyed to continue working and complete several development projects spread across the state.

Williams who spoke in Ugep, headquarters of Yakurr LGA, during the endorsement rally of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in support of state governor, Bassey Otu and his deputy as well as Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s president and his vice, maintained that these projects can only be completed if the governor is given a second term.

Specifically, Williams pointed at the on going Mkpani – Agoi road in Yakurr LGA, a project that cuts through his local community, commending the governor for this project and reiterating that its completion, as well as the completion of most projects like this, can only be completed if the governor is endorsed and supported to continue.

“This endorsement is our way of reciprocating Governor Otu’s goodwill, I was scheduled to be in Uyo with my National Assembly colleagues to receive Governor Umo Eno into the APC, but I chose to be here, to mobilize my constituents and demonstrate my total loyalty and support for the governor and our party.”

L – R: HOA member, Cyril Omini, LGA Chairman, Yibala Inyang, HOA member, Mercy Akpama, at the event.

Chairman of Yakurr Local Government Area, Yibala Inyang, present at the rally, said the turnout at the event, showed that the people were happy with the governor and his strides so far. “Yakurr people have come out in their numbers today to identify with the achievements of Governor Otu. We are demanding continuity, other administrations before his administration, served two terms, his should not be an exception”, he said.

Motion for the endorsement of Tinubu and Otu, was moved by CRS House of Assembly members from the LGA, Mercy Akpama, Yakurr II State Constituency and seconded by Cyril Omini, Yakurr I State Constituency, as political stakeholders from all 13 political wards, party officials, political appointees at state and local government level and supporters cheered in agreement.
