Enang, in Abuja, submitting his form.

Cross Riverian and internationally renowned Professor of Internal Medicine, Ofem Enang, has taken a bold step towards actualising his dream of becoming President of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA.

Enang yesterday, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, formally submitted his signed and endorsed nomination form for the office of President of the Nigerian Medical Association (2026-2028) at the NMA National Secretariat, Benghazi Street, Abuja.

Accompanied by seven State Chairmen and caucus leaders drawn from across the six geopolitical zones, a powerful demonstration of the broad national acceptance and growing momentum Enang’s candidature is gathering, we gathered that he stands out as the only candidate presenting a well-structured and systematic campaign with a comprehensive policy roadmap addressing the critical issues confronting Nigerian doctors.

“I am the first Cross Riverian in the history of the NMA to aspire to lead it. I am committed to delivering on the job because I am bringing to the table, passionate leadership which will be all embracing, decisively focused and built on consensus. I will work as an NMA President who will resolve institutional challenges and advocate effectively for the welfare of the profession”, Enang told www.calitown.com, exclusively.

From establishment matters to policy reforms, from protecting doctors to empowering private practice, Enang’s agenda presents a clear, practical, and forward-looking blueprint for restoring the dignity, unity, and relevance of the NMA in the country.

Enang who holds the prestigious Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College, FMCP, in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, is also a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology, FACE, as well as Fellow of the American College of Physicians, FACP.

He specialises in Internal Medicine, with strong expertise in Endocrinology and Metabolic Medicine, as well as General Internal Medicine. Dual competency in diabetes and endocrine illnesses, are his forte, demonstrating an uncanny capacity to manage some of the most complex and interconnected medical conditions affecting adults.
