Cross River Most Beautiful Girl 2016 Emerges

22-year old Victoria Ana, representing Calabar Municipality, this past Sunday, emerged Cross River’s Most Beautiful Girl, 2016, in a keenly contested pageant, held at the Dome, Calabar Municipal Gardens, Calabar.

Ana beat, Christy Anie, 21, first runner-up, Favour Ezeh, 21, second runner-up among several other contestants to cart home a car, cash prize, one year scholarship, national and international tours,  as well as represent the state at the coveted Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, MBGN, pageant later this year.

Shortly after her emergence, Ana told journalists that in addition to statutory pet projects lined up for her by CRMBG, she plans to set up a foundation to impact on girls in society. “I’m going to set a foundation, in addition to CRMBG pet projects, that will identify and solve sensitive and contemporary issues affecting girls in our society like teenage pregnancies, early marriages…” the queen said.

Cross River State Distinguished Service awards were also presented to a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Florence Ita-Giwa; former Cross River Commissioner for Youths and Sports and CEO of Hit 95.9 FM, Patrick Ugbe, top politician, Alex Egbona and former DSS spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar.

The well attended event had musical performances by Nigeria’s top reggae dance hall crooner, Spydaman, diva Alo; bold face musical act, Effa, as well as T-Shawn, Beetovin and Calabar rave of the moment and No Problem crooner,Icebox.
