Miracle Usani, victorious Nigerian women’s national football squad member, who was part of the team that won the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, has received a cash gift of ?50 million, a plot of land in Calabar and has been made a Sports Ambassador, as a token of appreciation for making her state, Cross River, proud.

Cross River State governor, Bassey Edet Otu, who made the disclosure, late Wednesday evening in Calabar, when he played host to Usani, expressed happiness that the footballer, through her exploits on the field, firmly put her state on the international footballing map. Commendable as her feat is, Otu acknowledged that a lot of hard work and discipline on her path, made this feat possible. He charged her not to rest on her oars, but to be an inspiration to several other young people of the state. The governor further pronounced her a sports ambassador of the state.

A visibly elated Usani, accompanied by her parents, while thanking the governor for the gifts, promised to double her efforts and make the governor and the entire state proud.
