CRUTECH: “No V-C, No Salary”

Posted on March 11, 2014 By Admin No Comments on CRUTECH: “No V-C, No Salary”

CrutechUncertainty is the word of the situation unfolding in the Cross River University of Technology, CRUTECH, as staff have not been paid for three months and they seem to be no respite in sight, calitown.com can reveal.

Investigations have however revealed that the situation is not unconnected with the vacancy created in the institution by the absence of a Vice Chancellor in the institution. Eneobong Effiom Eneobong, the immediate past VC of the institution, vacated the position after his tenure expired a few months ago. Sources within the university told calitown.com that “nobody has yet been authorised to sign the instrument in the banks that should give us our salaries and we are having it pretty tough because it is looking like until a VC is appointed, we will not be paid our salaries that we have worked for. It is a very unfortunate situation.

The two deputy vice-chancellors, calitown.com can also reveal, do not have the necessary authorization to sign the documents and so far staff say the “situation is at a stand still”
