Early Saturday morning, residents of Beebobsco area, Murtala Muhammed highway, Calabar Municipality, Cross River State, woke up to the blood-caked grizzly body of a young man believed to be in his early twenties, suspected to have been killed overnight in circumstances thought to be related to the current spate of cult-related killings that are seemingly becoming a normal occurrence in the state capital, www.calitown.com can reveal.

The young man, called Christian (surname withheld), wearing white shorts and a white singlet was shot under his left jaw at close range, as the gun injury shows and may have bled to death. Intriguingly, no blood stains were visible on the ground where the corpse lay at the time of this report, suggesting that he may have been shot somewhere else, before his corpse was dumped by the road side at Beebobsco, close to his house so his family members and friends can see the lifeless body.

When the www.calitown.com crew visited the area, scores of residents were seen gathered around the corpse in grieve. His distraught elder brother was seen sobbing uncontrollably, just like his mother could not be consoled. One source confirmed that Christian lives around the area and “is a small boy that we all know here. You can see from where he is lying that the people who killed him brought the corpse and dumped it here, so that it will be difficult for the police to get to the root of the matter. Not many people were ready to volunteer information at the time of this report.
