“Dominic Edem’s Kidnap, Criminally Motivated” – Security Source

Posted on March 24, 2015March 24, 2015 By Admin No Comments on “Dominic Edem’s Kidnap, Criminally Motivated” – Security Source

Copy of NEW LOGO OF CRSWhile the Labour Party and ruling PDP in Cross River State almost engaged each other in a war of words, over the recent kidnap of LP House of Reps candidate for Calabar South/Bakassi/Akpabuyo Federal Constituency, Dominic Oqua Edem, a competent security source in CRS has informed www.calitown.com that “Dominic’s kidnap was criminally motivated and had no political undertone, contrary to what several people thought”.

Explaining further the source said, “there is a place in Akpabuyo, an island, where a few criminal elements have made home and come into Calabar to snatch people away and get paid a ransome before releasing the victim. I must say that the bulk of the men and women there are ex-militants, who have chosen this dishonourable path. Unfortunately for us all, while the police has gathered intelligence on these individuals and the island, they are unable to move in because they will be out-gunned. What we need is a serious military operation to wipe out these criminals”. He went on to say that, “I hear N10 million was collected before Edem’s release and you think these criminals will not come back for another person after their latest bounty is expended? We must point government to these criminals as most communities around the area in question know about this crime enclave, even the women who go there are from neighbouring communities”.

A victim who was recently released and spoke with www.calitown.com. corroborated the story and added too that, ” I cannot say more than you have been told because I was seriously warned about volunteering any information, but God knows these people are well armed and only God can save you and I from them”, he concluded.
