Drama: Woman Nabbed With Baby At Cal Airport

Posted on February 27, 2014 By Admin No Comments on Drama: Woman Nabbed With Baby At Cal Airport

miA middle aged woman (name withheld) was at the centre of what a calitown.com source termed, “airport drama” early this evening when she attempted to board the 4pm Aero Contractors flight from Calabar to Lagos with an infant in suspicious circumstances.

Trouble is said to have started when the woman, clutching a baby to her chest was unable to pacify the infant who cried inconsolably. The cries of the infant may have attracted, first, the attention of other passengers and later airport security personnel. Security personnel are said to have insisted on accosting the lady that she breast feeds the infant only to discover that the lady had no breast milk for the infant. Drawn by the absurd situation, more security personnel at the Margaret Ekpo International Airport, Calabar, were said to have been alerted, causing the lady to be isolated and interrogated.

“It was discovered in the process of interrogation that the baby who is four days old, by our estimation, may not be the woman’s child”, one source told calitown.com. The woman sensing that a crisis situation was on hand, began to make frantic phone calls to persons our sources could not ascertain. At the point where men of the State Security Service, SSS, were called in to effect the arrest of the woman, she was insisting on knowing where she was being taken, so she could relay the same information to the people she was talking to on the phone.

As at press time, men of the SSS were still grilling her at their office, close to the airport.
