Ettah, Fmr PDP Secretary Formally Defects To APC

Posted on December 24, 2022 By Admin 1 Comment on Ettah, Fmr PDP Secretary Formally Defects To APC
Ettah, signing the APC register.

One time Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and immediate past Commissioner of Water Resources, Cross River State, Godwin Ettah, today formalized his defection from the PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as he entered his name in the Biko- Biko, Ugep local chapter of the party.

Flanked my local party officials, Ettah, entered his name as a new member of the party in circumstances not unrelated to his failed bid to clinch the PDP’s CR Central Senatorial District ticket for next year’s general elections. As we have already reported, Ettah has also been listed as a Commissioner-nominees by state governor, Ben Ayade.

While his defection was high-wired rumour until a memo from the governor to the CRS House of Assembly was leaked to www.calitown.com, political watchers are suggesting that he may have left several of his supporters and admirers stranded. “I don’t think he thoroughly consulted his political base before this movement. It appears to show that only his interest mattered; but you know like it always is, only the interests of politicians matter. Those of us who follow them appear to be voiceless sheep”, one supporter who has elected to remain anonymous, told us.

How does staying in a party (for a second time) that rewarded his loyalty from the first time with scorn and backstabbing benefit his supporters in any way?
