Four Former C’River State Govs To Be Honoured At 2025 Carnival Calabar Kickoff!

Former Cross River State governor, Clement David Ebri, tops a list of four former governors of the state, who will be honoured at the 2025 Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

Donald Duke, Liyel Imoke and Ben Ayade, former governors also, complete the list of four, slated to receive the state’s highest Merit Honour for Leadership during the ceremony and have their names and statues permanently mounted on the Walls of Heroes at Millennium Park Calabar. They will also be presented with a 24-carat gold star medal each as symbols of leadership excellence.

Each of the honourees is credited with notable contributions to the state’s growth and collective legacies that overtime, formed significant chapters in Cross River’s politics and development, organisers of the event say.

The Xmas tree lighting event, will usher in the 20th edition of the Carnival Calabar.
