Frontline Politician Condemns Post Election Violence In Ugep, Congratulates Ayade

Posted on March 11, 2019March 11, 2019 By Admin No Comments on Frontline Politician Condemns Post Election Violence In Ugep, Congratulates Ayade

Frontline politician and former governorship candidate of the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP,  in Cross River State, Ngang Bassey Ngang, has condenmned in strong terms the post election violence presently rocking parts of Ugep, Yakurr LGA and wants security agents to forcefully step in so that peace will return to the troubled spots.

He also wants the state governor, Ben Ayade to urgently look into this ugly situation considering that most of the youths used have been mobilized to attack those who supported the defeat of the APC in Ugep.

Ngang who spoke with www.calitown.com, further insisted that “there is no plausible reason why some youths in the area will abandon the true search for peace and instead embrace the kind of violence that has been unleashed in Ijiman. When we went out and voted, I mobilized my people and voted for Ayade. Thereafter, we went home peacefully. That is how civilized people conduct themselves.”

Pressed to explain the rationale behind mobilizing for and voting Ayade, he explained that the governor personally interacted with him in a meeting and solicited that “I throw my weight behind his candidature. It was a humble appeal in the presence of his deputy and I gave him my word that we will do our best and support him. That support we promised was delivered here in the votes cast in Ijiman Ward. Those who are threatening us with violence need to be clearly told that we have made our point with our votes. PDP won and I am not ashamed to say that I was also instrumental alongside others for this victory.”

Ngang, in ‘Agbada’, with Ayade, Ivara Esu and Tony Undiandeye as well as Tina Agbor, during the meeting with Ayade

Ngang, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, congratulated state governor, Ben Ayade on his re-election and promised to support his government, over the next four years.
