House of Reps Member, Jarigbe Agom Posts ‘Clear’ Cryptic Message For Detractors

Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, member representing Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, Cross River State, in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, HoR, has in a cryptic message posted on his Facebook page today, addressed his detractors on issues concerning the succession rumours and machinations trailing the death of Rose Oko, the late senator representing Cross River’s Northern Senatorial District, who passed away just days ago.

While vile political permutations appear to undermine the seriousness of Oko’s demise, Jarigbe came clear that: “…people are so insensitive to the plague that has befallen the whole world, with thousands of people dying from coronavirus. A lot of us are not perturbed by the death of other people, not even our Leaders. Who in CRS is richer and more powerful than ABBA Kyari ? Where is he at the moment? No man is invincible and no one knows the next minute. Please let’s put the issue of Senate in the North in abeyance. I don’t want anyone to mention my name on Facebook or anywhere for Senate. I have a mandate and I want to concentrate on delivering on this mandate as member of the HoR. It’s not the status that matters but the disposition to rendering service selflessly. We can’t have that disposition if our primary objective is to hold bigger positions for pecuniary benefits. Would anyone say I haven’t achieved because the HoR is a small Office? Capital NO. On that note, pls let’s honour our departed Senator and show her love even in death. Those who are in a hurry to replace her can do so but pls keep me out. May the Soul of the departed R.I.P.”

Jarigbe’s post appears to have been triggered by attempts to portray him as insensitive and eyeing the senatorial seat, something he has repeatedly rebuffed.
