Jarigbe To Imoke: “I Remain Deeply Grateful For Your Guidance … Generosity Of Spirit”

Imoke & Jarigbe in a long taken picture.

Senator representing Cross River North, Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, has on the occasion of the birthday of Liyel Imoke, former governor of Cross River State, taken to his verified Facebook page to express happiness and celebrate Imoke as he turned 64.

He wrote: “On this special occasion of your birthday, I join the good people of Cross River State, and indeed well-wishers across Nigeria, in celebrating a rare gem.”

“Your Excellency, you are more than a former Governor and statesman; you are a beacon of principled leadership, a man of uncommon depth, and humility personified. Your years of selfless service to our dear State and to Nigeria have left an indelible legacy of good governance, quiet strength, and a deep commitment to the common good.”

Jarigbe went emotional in: “As someone who has been fortunate to walk in the path you helped pave, I remain deeply grateful for your guidance, wisdom, and generosity of spirit. You have been a mentor in every sense of the word—steadfast, patient, and always committed to lifting up the next generation. Your unwavering belief in mentoring young people and nurturing leadership has inspired many, including myself, to dream bigger and lead better.”

“May this new chapter of your life bring you continued health, peace, and the satisfaction of knowing that your life’s work has not only shaped Cross River State, but also empowered countless others to follow in your noble footsteps. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency. God bless and keep you always.”

The senator drove home a point when he posted a picture of himself and Imoke, long before he became a member of the House of Reps and a senator today. Imoke was governor of CRS from 2007–2015, retiring into national politics and a private business life.
