Posted on November 24, 2014 By Admin 1 Comment on Obudu LGA Congress Materials Snatched At Gunpoint, Vena Ikem Attacked

pdpIt has just been revealed that in what is akin to a commando-like operation, a convoy of vehicles conveying ward congress materials from Calabar to Obudu was attacked by a group of unidentified men, numbering more than one hundred, several kilometres from Ikom, on the Calabar/Ikom highway.

Precisely, www.calitown.com sources on the line from the scene of the attack say the attack took place around Edor in Ikom. The convoy that was attacked is said to be that of governorship hopeful, Jedy Agba. Eyewitnesses say staunch supporter of Agba and former National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Venatius Ikem, may have lost valuables in the attack. Calls to Ikem’s cellphone number were busied.

While soldiers from the nearby Army barracks in Edor were drafted in and effected arrests, the whereabouts of the materials meant for Obudu remain unknown at the time of filing this report.

Materials for Obudu attack and seized at Edor, was that route the shortest or safest way to Obudu? What happen to Ikom/Obudu road? Now that they took the safest way or route to go to Obudu, we don’t want to hear stories.
