Information gathered by www.calitown.com has revealed that respected social commentator and lecturer in the Institute of Public Policy and Administration, University of Calabar, Okpo Ojah is dead. Family sources who confirmed the demise of Ojah say he died a few weeks ago, battling an unnamed illness.

Popular for his timeless news commentaries often aired on state radio, CRBC FM, as well as articles in several print media, at home and abroad, he is said to have lived a simple life, dedicating most of his time to the pursuit of his academic passion.

Renny Ettah, Editor of MOFINEWS, the financial journal published by the Cross River State Ministry of Finance, where the deceased served as the Alternate Editorial Board Chairman, expressed shock that Ojah “who has effortlessly shown commitment, over the years, while performing his function on the Board will be missed for all he stood for and the experience he brought to bear on MOFINEWS and several other places where he contributed write-ups to” and prayed that God will grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced by the family.
