One Doctor, Three Nurses On War Path With CCQ Organisers

Posted on December 30, 2013 By Admin No Comments on One Doctor, Three Nurses On War Path With CCQ Organisers

Unless something is done and urgently too, organisers of the recent Carnival Calabar Queen, CCQ, beauty competition may have serious problems on their hands because of one medical doctor and three nurses, calitown.com can reveal.

The doctor and nurses, who formed the medical team used throughout the days leading up to the competition and after, are sad that the organisers have taken the payment for their services with negligible seriousness. A source who spoke to calitown.com was particular that, “after engaging the services of these medical personnel for 10 straight days, organisers of the show had the effontry to offer one, out of the four persons, a paltry N50, 000 without stating clearly when others will be paid”.

The source revealed further that, “ofcourse the money was rejected because you just can’t engage the services of four persons and want to pay for one”. The medical team we hear, is seriously irked that the services they provided at the boot camp for the girls competing, valuable as the services were, payment for those services was not prioritised and are now forced to seek audience with authorities in the state so their monies earned, can be paid. “You see, all these people who are brought in by whoever to handle aspects of the Calabar festival, do a lot of things without being thorough and get away with doing those things. Until someone decisively stands up to them, this nonsense will not stop. How can you engage the services this professionals without renumerating them? It is insensitive and disrespectful of their professional calling”, another source added.

Attempts to speak with the organisers of the competition was not possible as several phone calls from calitown.com to the organisers were not taken.
