Our People Should Embrace Senator Onor – Thomas Ofem

Shortly after the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, visited Yakurr LGA last week, a community leader and PDP stalwart in the area, Thomas Ofem, has called on the people of the LGA to embrace the PDP gubernatorial candidate.

Ofem who spoke with www.calitown.com over the weekend, maintained that, “the PDP and Sandy Onor provide us all with an opportunity to let CRS governor Ben Ayade know that we are not happy, and we are ready for an alternative, which undeniably is Sandy Onor.”

He insisted that, “the APC government of Ben Ayade is the worst thing that has happened to Cross River State in recent times. From our civil service, our cleanliness, our tourism to our security and our Agriculture, Ben Ayade has destroyed everything. The token appointments that are currently being dished out to our young men and women cannot save this administration. We should punish APC for destroying our nation and our state. A vote for the APC means a vote for an incompetent and deliberately anti-people party.”

On the high profile defections from the APC to the PDP recorded in the LGA during the visit of Onor, Ofem says those who defected “broke away from the vain promises and half truths of the Ayade administration. These people have by their defection shown that they are teeming up with a PDP that is poised to bring back the glory days in our state and nation.”

Ofem emphasized the need for the electorate to take active part in ensuring that massive votes go the way of Onor and the PDP as this is the first step in a well planned rebuilding process of the state and nation.
