The Methodist Church of Nigeria community, especially in Calabar, Cross River State has been thrown into mourning following the sudden and untimely death of the immediate past Archbishhop of the Methodist Church in Cross River State and beyond, Archbishop Effiom Ekpenyong, last Friday, January 22, 2016.

Ekpenyong, www.calitown.com was informed, suddenly collapsed and died in his hotel room. Considered the first non-Catholic Archbishop to have come out of St. Patrick’s College, Calabar, the Akpap-Okoyong, Odukpani born cleric, was superintendent of the Calabar Methodist diocese before his transfer to the Aba diocese.
Those who know him say he was an eloquent cleric who walked the talk and inspired many Christians, both young and old. Obsequies are due in a couple of days.
