Nigeria’s Sports Development Minister, John Owan has expressed happiness over yesterday’s Super Eagles one nil victory over the Côte d’Ivoire men’s national football team at the Humphet Boigny stadium.

Expressing his delight, Enoh took to his X account and directly told the Super Eagles that, “…you promised Nigerians an improved game. With every training and every meeting, you were sold out on winning today’s match.”

Nigeria’s Super Eagles.

He went on to say that: “Your victory today is commendable, defeating the host nation is a good sign. The President and football-loving people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria are all rooting for you to stay victorious until the end. We all believe in you, It’s in you to win all through. Keep winning through all stages and bring home the trophy. We have done it before and we can do it again.
Let’s do it again! Congratulations to our National team.”

A fiercely struck penalty by Nigeria’s captain, Troost Ekong, in the second half, was the lone goal that secured victory for Nigeria, against AFCON host, Côte d’Ivoire.
