They say you’ve gone to heaven ,

But before you went to heaven Lord, you also went to hell.

Come down from your heaven, you who we can’t confess,

Come down to us, for we have need of you.

 

With Publicans and sinners they say you often dinned,

That a girl who was a tart, with you found peace of mind.

Come down from your heaven, if you love our kind

Come rescue us from the rape, murder and plunder of our home,

Come liberate us from the decay of our dear homeland.

 

They say you were victorious over death and hell,

They say also you took a dying thief to paradise with you.

Come down from your heaven, you who we dare confess

Come visit our hell of a homeland, where thieves have need of you

 

They say you calmed a raging storm with your voice,

They say you opened the eyes of they that never saw.

Come down to our hell Lord, come dear Lord

And open the eyes of our leaders, that they may lead right,

 

They say you fed a multitude with a few loaves and fishes,

They say you supped with your brethren before you departed.

I know the feeling of hunger, the hopelessness it brings.

Come down from your heaven, if you love our kind,

Come turn our many tears to rain, that there may be harvest

 

They say you are the truth ,

That the master of deceit at your encounter lost.

We have over the years been overwelmed by  masters of deceit and the stench is overbearing.

Come down from your heaven if you love our kind,

Come teach truth especially to them who claim you sent them,

 

Finally ,

They say you promised a new world, a paradise indeed

Where we will know no pain, no hunger, no bad governance and no lack,

Where you will be the Light shone among us forever

Come down to our hell of darkness,  you who we dare confess

Come light our lives as PHC has failed.
