Ricketts Distances Self From Spurious Online Petition

Posted on May 22, 2022 By Admin No Comments on Ricketts Distances Self From Spurious Online Petition
Akin Ricketts

Akin Anderson Ricketts, an All Progressives Congress, APC, aspirant vying to represent the CR Central Senatorial District in Nigeria’s Senate, has sharply reacted to a spurious online petition, against another aspirant, former Presidential aide, Okoi Obono-Obla, erroneously ascribed to him.

In a written reaction sent to www.calitown.com, Ricketts insisted that he was using this medium to express himself “…on the current trend of mudslinging being perpetuated by unknown persons in the name of politics.”

He went on to say that, “it is not only immoral and distasteful but will negate the primary intention of our great party (APC) which is to win the general elections. God alone in His Awesomeness, decides who becomes what, God alone qualifies the unqualified, so let us wait on him. We must imbibe the spirit of tolerance and forgiveness even at the utmost provocation. Let us all in the RICKETTS team be focused on our objective of achieving the party’s nomination and thereafter winning the general elections.”

He further maintained that those who have chosen to pen words that can tacitly draw blood, poison relationships, severe bonds and leave the people threadbare, will have their ignoble place with history soon. He completely distanced himself from the spurious petitions and acerbic write-ups, choosing to concentrate “on clearly winning elections on the APC platform. If you support my campaign and believe it must be done, do positive things only so that our place in history will be positively recorded”, he concluded.
