On Saturday, December 17, 2022, the Abayong community in Biase Local Government Area, Cross River State, stood still and hosted a large contingent of eminent persons as the family of His Royal Highness, Onun Johnson Ukam Ejekor, bade farewell to their matriarch, HRH Queen Monica Odubo Ukam Ejekor, with the memorial and funeral service conducted by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Abayong Parish, Biase Presbytery, CRS.

Born on August 3, 1947, the matriarch passed away on November 8, 2022, in Abuja, leaving behind her husband of several years, HRH Johnson Ukam Ejekor, seven children, 16 grandchildren, four brothers, five sisters as well as several family members too numerous to mention.
