Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Eteng Jonah Williams says his resolve to connect his constituency to the centre for meaningful visibility is his one reason for joining the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Williams made this disclosure in his Mkpani-Agoi ward, Yakurr LGA, during a ceremony to mark his formal defection to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Addressing the huge crowd that greeted his reception, Williams openly declared that, “I decided to join the APC because of Mkpani. I want Peace to be restored in my community, so that our parents can sleep well during elections. My community is divided and all hands must be on deck to salvage the situation and not to aggravate it,” he further stated.

He concluded by saying, he has brought his winning strategy so that APC would experience winning in Mkpani and Yakurr for the very first time while urging those in APC to remain in APC and reconsolidate for the betterment of the party.

Earlier State Caretaker Committee Women Leader of APC, Esther Ebri-Joe Bepeh, described the crowd as unprecedented. She added that women are proud of Williams for transforming and touching lives, demonstrated by the huge crowd today. “Welcome to your normal position in APC, she concluded.”
