Stephen Odey, who recently lost his seat in Nigeria’s Senate to Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, at the weekend defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, on whose ticket he was elected to the Senate is a colony of robbers.

Odey who defected with thousands of his supporters at his Yache, Yala ward, had very harsh words for the PDP accusing them of ganging up to rob him of his mandate.

“I was the one talking PDP here but now I am gone from the party and as such the PDP is completely dead. The claim that PDP is in our blood is false . In whose blood are they talking about? The party whom you voted me for as senator and those robbers ganged up and took it – come 2023 we will show them pepper”

Odey who was obviously angry with the treatment he got from the PDP stated that his ward is working towards having 20,000 votes and would deploy the votes effectively in the next election to punish PDP

“Anyone contesting to. be governor in 2023 and fails to come here to prostrate and negotiate, telling us what he will do for us is on his own. Anyone who sits in Calabar and plans to come here and rig should watch out if he will go back with his two legs”.

He announced that though he is no more in the senate, he has moved to the next level to work more for his people.

“My style is to work for my people and if anyone thinks that by not being in the senate I am finished, such people should watch out and see how I am going to work for my people”.

The state deputy governor, Ivara Esu who attended the event said the. large crowd which moved along with Odey attests to the fact that Odey is a man of the people.
