Hearing in the petition filed by Angela Ogeyi Odey of the All Progressives Congress, APC against the declaration of PDP’s Regina Anyogo as the winner of Yala State constituency of the Cross River State House of Assembly that took place on the 11th April 2015 before the National and State Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Calabar came to an end today after counsel to the Petitioners, Okoi Ofem Obono-Obla finished the cross examination of the Returning Officer of the election, Professor Augustine.

The tribunal presided over by Honourable Justice Emmanuel Awubra thereafter adjourned the case to 31st August 2015 for the parties to adopt their written addresses. The tribunal further ordered the respondents to file their respective written addresses within seven days from tomorrow, while the petitioners were given also the same number of days given the respondents to file their written address. The petitioners are seeking that the tribunal cancel results from polling units in the constituency and declare of the 1st respondent, Angela Ogeyi Odey winner.
