Irene Ugbo, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Cross River State Police Command, has confirmed to www.calitown.com, the death this evening, of a female traffic warden, crushed to death by a truck conveying scrap metals.

The tragedy which occured at the very busy WAPI junction in Calabar, is believed to have happened after the driver of the truck lost control and knocked down the warden, conducting traffic at the junction. A vehicle was also hit before the loaded truck stopped.
