UNICAL Lecturer In Soup, To Face Prosecution!

Posted on May 17, 2022 By Admin No Comments on UNICAL Lecturer In Soup, To Face Prosecution!

A lecturer in the Law Department of the University of Calabar is in soup after he was arrested in Bwari, Abuja FCT, for allegedly impersonating and writing a resit examination for a student of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja.

The lecturer, simply identified to www.calitown.com as P. Aboh, presently in police custody, is said to have confessed to the crime. It was further revealed that the person who contacted him to write the examination on his behalf, was previously banned by the Council of Legal Education from resitting the Bar Final exam.

While the police say they are waiting for the Director of Public Prosecution’s, DPP, advice before charging the suspect to court, Isa Ciroma, SAN, a professor and Director-General of the Nigerian Law School vowed to ensure that all the culprits are brought to book.

Sources inside the University of Calabar informed that the suspect recently won an all expenses paid scholarship to further his studies to doctorate level abroad and “may have been looking for small add up funds as ASUU has not been paid. I pity him”, we were told. He will also, after his trial, face the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee of the Nigeria Bar Association, for professional misconduct.
