Work Stalls ITM Ugep Resumption

Posted on January 31, 2014January 31, 2014 By Admin No Comments on Work Stalls ITM Ugep Resumption

It is emerging that unless something magical happens, the Cross River State Institute of Technology and Management, Ugep,  will suffer another postponement in the date earlier proposed for her opening  and commencement of academic activities, calitown.com can reveal.

While government has demonstrated a commitment to getting the school off the ground running, structural limitations are glaring setbacks for anyone to see. Though a few structures have been completed, others partially, furnishing of most of the structures has barely commenced. Dell, the computer giant for instance, contracted to provide and install computers at the institution, sources say has stated in clear terms that it needs a little above eight weeks to supply and install computers for use in the institution.

A few bureaucratic bottlenecks are also a drawback. Staff and various ancillary functions at the institution have barely left the starting blocks and like one source said, “if all of these issues are not sorted out, mistakes now that will discredit the institution later would have been made”. Most contractors spoken to at the institution’s site are confident of delivering their jobs on schedule, even though what calitown.com can see on the ground is a little away from the promises.
