Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, John Gaul Lebo, has been honoured by the Amabana Youth Coalition for Change, AYCFC, for his efforts towards youth emancipation and effective representation. Presenting the award, the President of AYCFC, Jecho Ije said the Speaker had distinguished himself in service to the people particularly through the various initiatives aimed at socially and economically emancipating the youths.

Ije who eulogized the sterling leadership qualities of Lebo, said his sponsorship of youths to acquire skills at the Enterprise Development Centre as well as scholarships to indigent youths were helping them realize their dreams and that the speaker had become a role model especially for youths who desire to carve a niche in life.

Responding, the Speaker thanked the youth group for finding him worthy of the award, vowing that youth development was a passionate cause he would vigorously pursue. He praised the AYCFC for positively engaging youths through its activities and projects which he observed were worthy of emulation, assuring that he would give the necessary support to enable the group and other community-based initiatives succeed while also maintaining that the various youth initiatives instituted by him would be widened to benefit more youths, adding that his vision for the emancipation of Cross River Youths would not lose steam.
