Frontline Cross River state based news and views website, www.calitown.com was yesterday, May 25, 2017, at the Transcorp Hotel, Calabar, Cross River State, honoured with the Legacy Award , for what event organisers, “Profiles and Biograpies” described as the website’s “Outstanding Service, Leadership and contributions to the Development of Cross River State and Humanity”, in a ceremony held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Cross River State.

Publisher and co-founder of www.calitown.com, Iwara Iwara, who received the award in a ceremony chaired by former Head of Service, Cross River State, Wilfred Inah with Helen Esuene, wife of pioneer military administrator of Cross River State, Udoakaha Jacob Esuene, in attendance, later said “this award is something the team must hold close to heart. It clearly demonstrates that real recognition trails hardwork and dedication to work. God we must thank, the organisers we must commend and our readers we must dedicate this award to. I am convinced that we have not yet gotten to where we have set our sights on, but with God on our side, we will continue to deliver news and views professionally, positively impact on our society and make this state and beyond a better place”.

On his Facebook page, several congratulatory messages have been directed at the publisher, seen in many quarters as a pioneer professional in online news reporting in Cross River State.
