Over a century ago, in 1897, the British exiled Oba Ovonramwen of Benin kingdom to Calabar in very criminal and painful circumstances.

But in the last two days, His Royal Majesty, Omo n’Oba Ewuare II Uku Akpolokpolo, the Oba of Benin has been in Calabar, CRS, in happier circumstances as a guest of His Eminence, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, Obong of Calabar, Natural Ruler, Treaty King and Grand Patriach of the Efik Kingdom, pulling all stops and cementing a relationship between two very exotic cultures.
