Odok

Joseph Odok, serial critic of Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, says his arrest and time spent behind bars on trumped up charges “was a bitter experience, but it was worth it for the freedom we must all enjoy”.

Odok who spoke to www.calitown.com, shortly after he reunited with his close friends and immediate family further revealed that, “it has been fun, fun, fun with my family members. Every one of them is happy that I am back and the mood among us is indeed great. There were lessons, I have taken away the positive lessons and left the negative ones behind as I move on.” He was also grateful to God for his ordeal and maintained that only God saw him through all he went through.

Arrested at his Abuja residence on September 26, 2019, Odok spent 26 days in police custody before he was arraigned in court in Calabar on October 22, 2019 on two charges of terrorism and cybercrime. After pleading not guilty, he was remanded at the Medium Custodial Centre in Calabar where he spent close to three months. He is billed to appear in court again on January 28 and 29, 2020.
