Pandemonium In CR Community As Three Chiefs, Others Are Burnt

Posted on May 24, 2020 By Admin No Comments on Pandemonium In CR Community As Three Chiefs, Others Are Burnt

There is pandemonium in Oku Community, Boki Local Government Area, Cross River Central, after three local chiefs identified as Benard Kekong, John Otu and Edward Kekong, were set ablaze and later died in the hands of irate youths in the community after it was alleged that the chiefs were wizards.

The irate youths did not stop there as several women in the community were also burnt over allegations of witchcraft.

While an aide to state governor, Ben Ayade, has been fingered as being the brain behind the burning, several indigenes of the community have fled the area, including the village head, afraid that a sorcerer brought to the community may point at them, we were told. Security agents have, at press time, not been mobilized to the area as Oku boils.
