Ayade Congratulates Ngaji As PDP/APC Even Scores

Posted on February 27, 2022 By Admin No Comments on Ayade Congratulates Ngaji As PDP/APC Even Scores
L-R; Ayade, Ngaji.

Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, has quickly reacted to the victory of Jude Ogbeche Ngaji in the February 26, 2022 House of Representatives rerun for the Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, describing it as a great victory for his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The governor took to his verified Facebook page and congratulated “Jude Ogbeche Ngaji, candidate of the APC, winner of the just concluded Ogoja/Yala Federal House of Representatives By-Election. It is indeed a great victory for our great party, the APC” he said in a 34-worded post.

Ngaji was declared winner of the polls, largely marred by violence, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, after polling 22,778 votes to defeat Mike Usibe of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, who polled 20,590, 2,188 lesser than Ngaji.

Ayade and his party, the APC, appear to have evened scores after the PDP’s Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, pulled the mat off the APC’s feet when he won a bitter and hard fought legal battle that threw the APC’s Stephen Odey out of Nigeria’s Senate. Jarigbe presently occupies the CR North Senatorial seat in the red chambers. That court decision many believe, has been Ayade’s political albatross and it was certified so, in the build-up to this election and with the massive deployment of state government might before, during and after this election.
