Florence Obi, Unical VC.

On the heels of Monday’s massive students protest in the University of Calabar, over the recent fee hike announced by university authorities, management of the institution, has suspended the hike “until further notice.”

Gabriel Egbe, Registrar of the institution in a release issued late Monday evening, stated that “management of the institution is a listening administration and has accordingly assured the students, as critical stakeholders, that appropriate arrangements have been put in place through constructive engagements with the students to resolve the matter.”

Management also commended the students “…for the mature, reasonable and civilized manner exhibited towards resolving the matter.”
