“If Any First Timer In OBO Has Performed Better Than Me, I Will Not Seek A Second Term” – Akpanke

Posted on January 8, 2026 By Admin No Comments on “If Any First Timer In OBO Has Performed Better Than Me, I Will Not Seek A Second Term” – Akpanke

As political momentum builds across the country, Peter Akpanke, who represents Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency, Cross River State, has put his people to task, urging them to show him any first timer to Nigeria’s House of Representatives from their federal constituency, who has performed better than him, in his first term in the HOR.

Akpanke, who spoke at a hugely attended rally in Obudu, Cross River State, added a rider that, if such a person can be found and brought forth, he will not seek a second term in office.

At the rally, Akpanke was emphatic that “I have projects…they may not have gone round all the wards, but we will fix a date within this month (January) and come and commission them for all to see. After that, we will initiate new projects – we owe you a duty, the mandate we are holding is your mandate, we are holding it in trust for you. We owe you a duty and we will not let you down.”

The federal lawmaker had earlier drummed up support for Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s President, Bassey Otu, Cross River State Governor and the three chairmen in charge of the three local government areas that make up the federal Constituency.
