
Thousands of constituents ensured Igoli, Okuku, and its environs, in the North of Cross River State, were locked down as they poured out in a solidarity march in support of the re-election bid of Godwin Offiono, who represents Ogoja/Yala Federal constituency in Nigeria’s House of Representatives.
The massive crowd chanted solidarity songs and enjoyed a canival-like atmosphere championed by both the young and old, women, Okada unions, students representatives as well as, who in one voice adopted the candidacy of Offiono as the flag bearer for the All Progressives Congress.
Several speakers at the rally, including Omor Egbeji, Thompson Eje, Anthony Iji, Egar Mgbantul, Emmanuel Odidi, among others, reeled out the lawmaker’s scorecard and visible evidence of his performance to the admiration of the crowd and the need to give him full support, to return in 2027.
Specifically, representatives of the students body, Okada unions and market women, commended Offiono for especially capturing their groups in his various training/empowerment schemes and his numerous developmental strides.
Highlight of the occasion was offering of prayers by elders and declaration of total support for his candidacy, urging the APC leadership to adopt Godwin Offiono as its consensus candidate for ease of electoral victory in the federal constituency.
