Posted on January 25, 2014January 25, 2014 By Admin No Comments on 2015 Presidential Election To Hold On Valentine’s Day

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the timetable for the 2015 general elections, as well as the timetable for the conduct of the governorship election in both Ekiti and Osun States which will have early elections.

In a three-paragraph, Augusta Ogakwu signed document, the INEC secretary revealed that the presidential and National Assembly elections would come first. As the timetable stands, Nigerians will elect a president and members of the National Assembly on February 14, 2015. Elections for governors as well as members of the 36 state houses of assembly are scheduled for February 28, 2015.

However, the Ekiti State governorship election is to hold on June 21, 2014 while that of Osun State will hold on August 9, 2014.
The elections are an uphill task and litmus test for INEC. PDP’s recent internal issues and the APC’s peckings at the party’s heart will promise an observer’s delight.
