CR APC Bungles State Congress

Posted on May 9, 2014May 9, 2014 By Admin No Comments on CR APC Bungles State Congress

APC-Logo1Yesterday’s All Progressives Congress, APC, state congress at the Venetian Mall, Murtala Muhammed highway, Calabar, may have been bungled in circumstances unconnected with electoral irregularities, www.calitown.com sources have informed.

A source on the ground say “of the five candidates vying for the position of state chairman, a few unscruplous party men were hell-bent on subverting the choice of the people, insisting that a particular candidate must be chairman and since they won’t let the will of the people prevail, the fist of the people took over and violence was visited on the forces within our party who are sworn to turning back the hands of the clock”. Even the arrival to the venue of the CRS Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mike Igini, did little or nothing to douse tension and avert the ugly situation.

As it stands, the congress will have to be put together for another day and the will of the majority respected if the party hopes to challenge for top political honours in Cross River State.
