Tuesday afternoon’s resignation letter, sent in by Gerald Ada, up until this morning the Special Adviser to Cross River state governor on Investment Promotion, may have finally put paid to long held speculations that Ada maybe leaving Liyel Imoke’s cabinet to pursue greener pastures, www.calitown.com can reveal.

Ada’s letter, dated 30th September, 2014 and addressed to CRS governor, Liyel Imoke, a copy of which www.calitown.com obtained, expressed his “sincere gratitude to Your Excellency for the opportunity granted (him) to serve the people of CRS in the past six years”. It added that, “during the past six years, as Special Adviser, Investment Promotions, I have committed myself to the service of our dear state to the best of my abilities”.

“I have gained an in-depth understanding of the state’s sociopolitical and economic drive and very well understand the vision and economic blueprint, drawn up and vigorously driven by the quality leadership of Your Excellency and your predecessor, Mr. Donald Duke”, the letter continued.

Of interest to a lot of Cross Riverians will be the fourth paragraph of the letter where Ada unequivocally states that, it is against the background of his understanding as stated that he has “…decided to resign from my present position…and to offer myself for service to the state come 2015 as Governor of Cross River State…completely motivated by the desire to serve…the collective interest of 3.5 million Cross Riverians”.

In all, before further thanking Imoke for giving him the opportunity to serve, Ada promises to abide by “whatever is the decision of the leadership of our party and the people of CRS”, should the pendulum not swing in his favour come 2015.
