While the suspicious disappearance of an Apostolic Church pastor working in Mkpani, Yakurr LGA and his personal assistant appears to be the latest in a series of unsolved mysteries in the area, a call has gone out for residents of the area to thread cautiously and allow the Police carry out a thorough investigation view a view to getting to the root of the matter.

Speaking late yesterday on the phone with www.calitown.com, member representing Yakurr II State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Eteng Williams, submits that “people should not be quick to point accusing fingers without incontrovertible proof. This is a very delicate matter which has the capacity to make our people go to war and for this reason, we must be very careful, employ considerable restraint and allow the Police to look into the matter”. He went on to say that, “…as I speak with you, we cannot say it is murder, it is disappearance for now, what of if the man and his PA appear… I am sure right thinking indigenes of Mkpani and Yakurr are thinking in this direction, so caution is the word”.

Meanwhile, the disappearance of the clergyman and his PA has heightened tension between the Mkpani community in Yakurr LGA and the Ediba community in Abi LGA. Anonymous sources are insisting that the two men may have been taken away by persons believed to be from Ediba, something www.calitown.com could not confirm at press time. Police sources in the area say investigations have commenced and in no time, light will be thrown on the matter”.
