Mass Transfer To Hit Two Police Stations In Calabar

In what can be described as a fallout from the cult-related killings that rocked Calabar, the Cross River State capital in the last two weeks, there are indications that the new Cross River State Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, will bow to pressure and approve a massive re-deployment of police personnel presently serving in the Atakpa and Mbukpa police stations in Calabar South LGA.

Investigations by www.calitown.com reveal that the re-deployment is being pushed through by several individuals, within and outside the police, who seem to have overwhelming evidence pointing to the fact that more than a handful of police personnel serving in this two stations, gave out information which helped suspected cultist evade police arrest. Even on the local radio station in Calabar, HIT 95.9 FM, this past Saturday, when the CP Ozi-Obeh appeared as guest on one of the programmes, two callers told the CP point blank that he must have to effect the re-deployment of police personnel in this two stations.

“If you want to get to the root of this cult-related killings, please sir, transfer all the police people (sic) in Mbukpa and Atakpa because most of them give information to these people killing each other and even information that makes it difficult for police to make arrests”, one caller emphatically called in to say. When contacted by www.calitown.com, Ozi-Obeh, held back his comments and promised to reach www.calitown.com shortly. He was still to do that at press time.
