Very Rev. Emmanuel Esukpa, the first indigenous Catholic priest of Yakurr extraction in Cross River State is dead, Catholic Church sources have informed www.calitown.com.

Esukpa, ordained for the Missionary Society of St. Paul, MSP, is said to have passed on at the St. Ann’s Hospice, Abuja, last Saturday, where he has been on admission battling what sources say was Parkinson’s disease, a disorder of the central nervous system that affects movement, often including tremors.

Family sources and church sources further informed www.calitown.com that the late priest will be buried on December 7, 2017, at the MSP facility in Gwagwalada, Abuja. Esukpa was ordained for the missions in 1986.
