Thousands of people drawn from within Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, Cross River State and beyond, are still in a jubilatory mood, after they trooped to designated health care facilities in the constituency, Wednesday, November 13, 2024, and accessed for free, comprehensive medicare facilitated by Alex Egbona, House of Representatives member, representing the Federal Constituency.

Egbona who said the outreach will be an annual event, while flagging it off in Agbara and Nko communities of Abi and Yakurr LGAs respectively, came clear that apart from medical checks and issuance of drugs, the medical experts drawn from Abuja, Enugu, Abakiliki and Calabar, will also undertake surgical procedures on the people.

He expressed satisfaction at the massive turn out and cooperation of patients and the medical team, adding that he decided to facilitate the medical outreach because of the love he has for his people.

Chairmen of Abi and Yakurr local government areas, Bassey Egbala and Yibala Inyang, expressed happiness at the quality of medical service Egbona was offering the people and expressed gratitude to the parliamentarian for his recurring commitment to the welfare of his people.

Egbala and Inyang were also in agreement that Egbona has shown extraordinary love for this people over the years and noted their readiness to partner the lawmaker to attract greater service delivery to their people.

The medical outreach, which was preceded by a three-day training for selected health workers in the federal constituency on maternal and child care expected to last till Saturday, November 16, 2024. At press time, no fewer than 70 surgical operations, ranging from hernia, fibroid, appendicitis as well as other cases, had been attended to.
