Akpanke Flags-Off Road Rehabilitation Project

Work has commenced on the Utugwang market road project, among several other road rehabilitation projects being undertaken by Peter Akpanke, who represents Obudu/Bekwerra/Obanliku Federal Constituency, in the House of Representatives.

The Utugwang market road, which connects Obudu to Ogoja, Bekwarra, Boki LGAa in Cross River State and the Northern part of Nigeria, has been in bad shape, slowing down human and vehicular movement, even slowing down too the evacuation of agricultural produce to other parts of the state.

Equipment at work on the project site.

Akpanke who had earlier flagged-off the rehabilitation of the Ketting-Bebuakayang road, connecting Bendi and Bisu communities in Obanliku local government area, exclusively informed www.calitown.com that he has embarked on intervention in this critical area because of the difficulties his constituents constantly encounter, using these roads.

He also was particular that, “I have a political contract with my people and that contract demands explicitly that I must touch the lives of my constituents with programmes and projects that have a direct impact on the everyday living of these constituents.”

“We are at the beginning of something, please my people should have the presence of mind to accompany me on this journey so that our sufferings will be less. I pray for your prayers, to accompany me as we water the soil for prosperous times ahead.”

Jubilant men, women and children in the community, sang and danced with joy as earth moving equipment roared to life and went to work on the road.
