“APC In C’River Has One Million Registered Members” – State Publicity Sec

Erasmus Ekpang, Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Cross River State, has revealed that the APC in Cross River State has a whooping one million registered members in the state.

Ekpang who was guest on “The Public View”, the Saturday morning news and current affairs programme on HIT 95.9 FM, Calabar, maintained that this figure moved from a little above 300 thousand members to one million after the party embarked on an aggressive membership registration exercise. He also pointed out that state party chairman, Alphonsus Eba, further ensured that this was achieved in record time in what the party tagged “political evangelism”, to show that the APC is not just in power but also on ground in CRS.

Pressed to verify this information, the scribe said the party’s register was in the party secretariat, specifically in the office of the Organizing Secretary, and anyone interested in verifying this information can apply to the party, secure approval and will be handed the register to peruse.

On the new choice of state governor, Ben Ayade as the party’s new candidate for the Cross River North Senatorial position in next year’s election, Ekpang maintained that Ayade’s former Chief of Staff, Martin Orim, must be commended and not condemned for handing down the mandate since it was a personal decision and because “too many things are not immediately visible in politics”, he didn’t expand further.
