We can reliably confirm that immediate past Cross River State Internal Revenue, Peter Oti, who resigned his appointment not too long ago in uncertain circumstances and was days ago picked up by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been released.

In a text message to www.calitown.com early Sunday morning; “I will be Calabar tomorrow (Monday) and may brief the press accordingly”, to clear certain doubts that have trailed his arrest. While government sources have declined to give www.calitown.com details on the role played by government in Oti’s arrest and subsequent transfer to the Port Harcourt, Rivers State office of the anti-graft agency, it is clear to watchers that his arrest is connected to his stewardship in the IRS.

More details shortly….
